The Bulgari Resort, Bali, occupies a secluded plateau near Uluwatu, on the southern tip of the Jimbaran peninsula. The Temple

At the highest point of The Bulgari Resort, Bali, a traditional temple acts as a guardian overseeing  the well being of the resort’s occupants. In keeping with the village theme incorporated into the  layout of the resort, the temple has its own spiritual community to carry out the daily ceremonies  that are so integral to the Balinese Hindu religion.

The Reception
Designed by architects Antonio Citterio and Partners, and created from hand- hewn volcanic stone, rich exotic woods and an exclusive range of furniture and fabrics, the magnificent proportions offer a fitting welcome to guests of The Bulgari Resort, Bali.

The Restaurants

The Bulgari Resort, Bali features two restaurants. Sangkar presents contemporary Indonesian,  Asian and international cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a sophisticated casual atmosphere. Il Ristorante defines traditional and modern creative Italian cuisine and is open only for dinner with a more formal ambience.

The Bar

A spectacular yet  welcoming space, terraced with  contemporary furnishings, offers a haven for relaxed contemplation of the  Indian Ocean beyond. For sunset drinks, daytime lounging or bathing in  the moonlight, The Bar is a sophisticated gathering place serving wines,  cocktails with appetizers inspired by classical Italian flavors.

The Sangkar
Named for the traditional bamboo cages used extensively in the décor, Sangkar offers a creative take on contemporary Indonesian cuisine. Two communal tables in the heart of the floor space define a casual  atmosphere and the extensive menu draws heavily on locally prepared organic ingredients and traditional recipes combined with modern  culinary techniques.

The Spa
Set in the very heart of  The Bulgari Resort, Bali, The Spa is the embodiment of a holistic healing centre, bringing together the therapeutic traditions of Indonesian massage and the contemporary elixirs of modern spa technology. An antique ‘Joglo’ house,  transported piece by piece from central Java, creates a unique reception area. Eight treatment rooms and suites overlook the Indian Ocean and the spa gardens, each with private changing areas, plunge pools and outdoor relaxation areas. Modern treatments are combined with ancient techniques to create a range of unique spa rituals.

Far from the crowds lies this nine-suite full-service hotel, where the word of the day, every day, is privacy. The Facilities

Don’t expect multiple dining options and gift shops: Astarte is all about the low-key,  which means you  either grab a snack and a drink in the  swank Lava Lounge and Bar, take a seat at the Morning Star Pool Bar, or enjoy the a la carte menu, served ensuite or alfresco on your terrace. There’s WiFi access throughout the hotel’s public areas. And there’s no beating the views from Astarte Suites’ freshwater pool, flush up against the very edge of the cliff.

The Rooms
They won’t be to everyone’s taste, with their sponge-painted walls and sorbet-hued palette; and they’re not the most drop-dead decadent on the island. But all have jacuzzi tubs (some of them open to the room), king-size beds set into deep built-in bedsteads, and flat-screen televisions. Breakfast is served in the privacy of individual verandas or terraces.

Las Ventanas al Paraiso (windows to paradise) is a beautiful five-star resort, nestled at the tip of the Baja Peninsula on the fine white sands along the sparkling blue Sea of Cortés.

Known for it’s spacious and lavish suites… my stay included the Two Bedroom Ocean View Suite. At 3,900 square feet with one king bed and two queen beds, this stunning Two Bedroom Ocean View Suite is situated on the third level, offering gorgeous ocean views.

Upon entering the room I felt like I was returning to my summer home… everything in the right place and just where I left it. The expansive living area is filled with plush wrap around couches, sitting chairs, the dining room table on the right (complete with a welcoming fruit basket), off to the left was a full kitchen, bigger than some apartments I’ve seen in NYC. Beyond the living area was the large covered patio. Bougainvillea capturing the over hang and wicker style seating throughout. The view is both breathtaking and beautiful. Panoramic.

The bedrooms are separated by the living area and were equal in size, plush infinite beds, huge spa tubs, marble throughout, stading showers, dual sinks, good lighting, and includes a private toilet room. Las Ventanas has missed no details in their rooms. The designer toiletries are in larger bottles that open-and-close with the ease of the pull-up, push-down, method of some fancy fragrance bottles. Minute details that make you think, “Oh? …nice.”
